  • Auditions will be held at The Sandra Moon Community Complex (7901 Bailey Cove Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35802)

  • Auditions will be held on July 28, 2026 from 6:30-8:30pm, or by appointment

  • Audition Requirements:

    • Sing a prepared art song or aria

    • Sing a sight-reading exercise

    • Provide a musical resume including choral and solo experience

  • Singers of all voice types are welcome to audition!

  • We rehearse on Tuesday evenings, August through May

  • Group participation requires attendance at weekly rehearsals, participation in performances, and a membership fee of $175

Guest Conductor Z. Randall Stroope

Z. Randall Stroope is an American conductor and composer. He has had recent conducting engagements in Rome, Dublin, Berlin, Stockholm, Milan, Tallinn, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and others, including conducting music at Vatican mass on 14 occasions. He has conducted at Carnegie Hall over 40 times, and directed 48 high school all-state choirs in the United States. Cecil Effinger and Normand Lockwood, students of Nadia Boulanger (student of Gabriel Fauré) were Randall’s composition teachers. He has 210 published works. Commissions include Raffles Singers (Singapore), University of Szczecin (Poland), West Point Military Academy, Müller Chamber Choir (Taiwan), among others. Commissioned works written for and premiered in the 2025-2026 season include a 30-minute choral/orchestral work (Franklin) presented by National Concerts at Carnegie Hall, UT Insieme (Italy) for the 500 th anniversary of Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, a work for Music Celebrations International at National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and a 30-minute choral/orchestral work (In Paradisum) for Voce Chamber Singers (Virginia). Recordings of his works are available on Spotify, YouTube and www.zrstroope.com.

Randall guest conducts full-time, and composes from his home studio near Santa Fe, New Mexico, and on Merritt Island, Florida.
